Adjustments in other countries

Retirees who have worked in the U.K., Germany and Holland point out that in these countries adjustments to pensions are made on a regular basis. This is indeed the case but it is driven by legal requirements in the case of the U.K. and Germany. In the U.K. this comes at the cost of pension coverage since there is no legal requirement to fund future needs. In Germany the fund is part of the national pension process. In Holland, there is no national obligation, but a need to agree with local employee representatives. DuPont Nederland has agreed to the need for making adjustments, but makes the actual payment subject to availability of funds and this has not occurred in the last few years. There are many more countries in Europe with their own rules. DISA’s point of view is: DISA applies Swiss law. Practices in other countries can therefore differ from DISA practices.
